Biography

Maria Doering was born February 14th, 1985 in Germany.  In Mai 2000 her family immigrated to the United States where Maria graduated from High School in Oakland, NJ and attended Hartford Art School as part of the University of Hartford, Hartford, CT. Fall 2005 she spent one semester studying in the beautiful Tuscan town Cortona in Italy.
In Mai 2007 Maria graduated with Regents Honors, being in the top two of her class she left Hartford with a suma cum laude BFA in Printmaking and a Minor in Art History. Working on her MFA with a Print Media concentration she is currently enrolled at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.

Her interest in Art and all its components roots in her childhood, seeing her grandfather work on his watercolors, has inspired her even as a small child. But the artist within her started to truly blossom when she came to the U.S. where she took full advantage of the creative possibilities handed to the students in High School. Today she is looking to challenge her traditional training from Hartford Art School with the conceptual training during her MFA
at Concordia University, never tired of reinventing her work and pushing her ideas.

Maria Doering has worked in countless different media including, a vast range of Printmaking techniques, painting, photography, drawing as well as three-dimensional media. During the next few years she is planning on further investigating practices that include printing on fabric, installation and digital lithography.
